News Blast #5! Exciting Opportunities!

Hello PTs! We hope you are having a productive week so far! This week's news blast contains information about some exciting opportunities, as well as some reminders about upcoming deliverables! Let's start with an exciting opportunity!

NYC Men Teach Orientation Events!

NYC Men Teach is a mayoral initiative started in 2015 to support male teachers of color who are first-year classroom teachers. If you have already been messaged by NYC Men Teach to confirm your participation by attending a confirmation orientation, you still have a chance to attend!

A confirmation orientation will introduce you to the NYC Men Teach initiative and its supports of mentorship, professional development, and networking, connect with other NYC Men Teach teachers and community members, as well as allow you to officially confirm your participation.

The next two orientation dates for Collaborative members interested in joining NYCMT are:
Wednesday, April 18 – 6:30-8:00 (RSVP for this orientation)
Thursday, April 26 – 6:30-8:00 (RSVP for this orientation)

RSVP using the links above for the one date you wish to attend.

Responsive Coaching Session (RCS) to Support Growth in Domain 4!

In analyzing the performance data from Gateway 2, it has come to our attention that many PTs need more scaffolding and support in successfully meeting Domain 4 benchmarks, specifically component 4a. We have posted a self-guided RCS (effectively an independent, online SBS) across Google Classroom. We encourage all PTs to complete this RCS in preparation for meeting Domain 4 benchmarks in Gateway 3. On Google Classroom, you can access a personal copy of the RCS, complete the RCS, and turn it in for review and feedback by your Lead Instructor. Please contact your Lead Instructor if you have any questions about this opportunity!

NYCTC Chek-In Survey #2!

NYCTC is excited to launch PST Satisfaction Survey #2! Your feedback from Survey 1 was incredibly valuable to us, and we look forward to learning about your experiences and insights as PST progresses.

A link to Satisfaction Survey #2 has been sent to your personal email account. Please note that it may have arrived in your spam or junk folder, so you should check those folders if you do not see an email from us in your inbox.

The survey is due by Thursday, April 26 at 9pm; you will be able to save your progress and return to the survey as many times as needed.

Please plan to either complete this survey on your own time or to arrive 10 minutes early (or stay 10 minutes late) for SBS to complete the survey by or before 04.26!

SBS Date Change Week of 04.16

Please note that this week SBS will be on Wednesday and Thursday evenings to allow you to attend a hiring fair event on Tuesday. Please plan to attend SBS both evenings, Wednesday and Thursday this week, the week of 04.16.
